The Outcast Edition

There is a long list of vice presidents who won the nomination of their party to be the president of the United States.

“Eighteen of the 49 vice presidents of the United States have attempted a run for the presidency after being elected vice president. Six have been elected to the presidency”.Joe Biden, George H. W. Bush, Richard Nixon, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams were notable examples.

But no one, until this day, except for Mike Pence, went from second in command to a pariah in less than 100 days.

Mike Pence’s political career is over. He will remain active…

This has to stop

Senior political reporter of Washington Post, Aaron Blake, wrote it was an embarrassing moment for Fox News. Mr. Blake detailed the ugly back and forth between White House Press Secretary and Fox News reporter.

In her daily briefing last Thursday, July 15th, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki explained the influence of a small group in spreading COVID misinformation in the United States.

“There’s about 12 people who are producing 65 percent of anti-vaccine misinformation on social media platforms. All of them remain active on Facebook, despite some even being banned on other platforms, including Facebook.”

They had it coming

In a scene that could be flicked out of the pages of a John Grisham story, U.S. District Court Judge Linda V. Parker asked if any of the attorneys who challenged Michigan’s 2020 election results spoke to the witness.

No one responded.

Not a single one.

Anyone? Pressed the judge.

She then went on to brutally expose the frivolous nature of the lawsuit.

“Let the record reflect that no one made that inquiry, which was central to [the] allegation,” the judge said.

Attorneys have a responsibility to investigate the assertions they present to the court. But…

Will Biden rescue Ron from himself?

I am starting to feel for Ron DeSantis. I really do. It is not difficult to follow the Florida governor’s drift into the MAGA world.

Ron DeSantis could have followed in the footsteps of Vermont’s Republican Governor Phil Scott and helped Florida lead the country’s vaccination drive. He could have proudly hoisted the freedom and liberty flag in Tallahassee. As a result, Florida’s tourism industry would have soared like an eagle elevating the governor’s stature.

No need for a vaccine certificate. No one will be running home to grab their forgotten mask. …

He may be telling us the truth

Donald Trump absolutely knows the answer to 2024. He can’t reveal it yet.

“I can’t reveal it yet, but I absolutely know my answer. And we’re gonna do very well, and people are gonna be very happy,” Donald Trump told Maria Bartiromo earlier this week. Enough bread crumbs to send his true-believer base into a tizzy.

Donald Trump and the GOP told us they were a match made in heaven.

Trump signed off on a long list of conservative priorities, from packing the courts around the country to clearing the corporate tax cut…

The Japanese Automaker Hits the Pause Button on Donations

What makes a $250 billion company move faster than a viral ad?

A viral attack ad.

Toyota lost its balance after the Lincoln Project took the Japanese automaker for a wild ride “over its continued support of members of Congress who voted to overturn the election results.”

As soon as the ad started percolating through social media, Toyota took the brave step to stop contributions to congressional members who contested the certification of 2020 election results.

Just a week earlier, the carmaker had defended donations to members of the sedition caucus.

Let’s Rewind a Little

They Exist To Serve and Protect the Rich

There’s an old saying: Pigs get fat. Hogs get slaughtered.

The Republican Party and the Conservative groups pushed corporate welfare programs in broad daylight because they convinced average Americans that the policies would benefit them in the long run.

Trickle-down economics. Lower Taxes. Anti-Regulation. Minimum Government. Free-Markets. Personal Liberty.

Long-run analysis of every single conservative priority listed above will circle you back to corporate welfare. But the political class would have never succeeded in their quest without mobilizing Americans.

The Republican party leans on conservative groups to lead their mobilization efforts. They…

Time to wish him the best

Photo by Jose Moreno on Unsplash

Spoiler Alert: This is not an article about GOP eating itself alive. The Grand Old Party is eating democracy alive. Not the party.

A fracture is inevitable. Our brain raps like Eminem on full volume. We point our fingers at the power struggle between the Trump camp and moderate GOP. Some said Trump would start a new party after the Jan 6th insurrection. Some said the moderates would break out to start a new party.

Nothing happened.

We watch GOP senators pile on the conspiracy theories and tell ourselves nobody buys this nonsense. …

The finals days of the chorus is here

President Biden firmly believes he would be in an extremely different position in Washington, D.C, had the democrats efficiently countered the ‘defund the police’ movement. He made his displeasure extremely clear to civil rights leaders when he spoke to them in December 2020.

“I also don’t think we should get too far ahead of ourselves on dealing with police reform in that, because they’ve already labeled us as being ‘defund the police’ anything we put forward in terms of the organizational structure to change policing — which I promise you, will occur,”…

Will he ever stop asking for money?

Photo by Annie Spratt on Unsplash

Trump demands an end to the “shadowbanning, a stop to the silencing, and a stop to the blacklisting, banishing and canceling that you know so well.” He wants the court to protect his first amendment rights.

Like a child running around crying over a lost toy, Donald Trump has decided to try his luck in the court.

He is crying foul that “the companies violated Trump’s First Amendment rights in suspending his accounts and argues that Facebook, in particular, no longer should be considered a private company but “a state actor” whose actions…
