It’s the Covid, stupid

Finally, after months of silence, the White House let it slip last Friday. Press Secretary Jen Psaki admitted Biden’s approval rating is not where it should be because of the pandemic.

“No question that’s having an impact. And of course, as the president has said, the buck stops with him,” Psaki said. “That’s far and away the biggest issue in the minds of the American people, and it’s impacting a lot of issues.”

The national media missed the connection as they blamed Afghanistan for Biden’s precipitous drop in polls. The botched withdrawal may have played a small role. But the root cause was always the Covid trendline pointing north.

The mainstream media strongly believes Biden’s approval numbers are tanking because of Afghanistan. I beg to differ. I firmly believe they are absolutely wrong on this one. Biden’s approval numbers are tanking because of rising Covid cases. (I wrote early last month)

Now that we can all agree Biden’s poll numbers are inversely correlated to Covid case count, we can deduce Americans want their president to flatten the pandemic. They don’t care how it gets done. They don’t care who creates roadblocks. They want their commander in chief to invent the solution.
