Finally, a piece of good news for the democrats.

Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema’s nightmares came to life yesterday. Their long wait to tank the democratic infrastructure bill citing deficit concerns came to an abrupt end.

The Congressional budget office (CBO) expects the proposal to add an average of $36.7 billion /year to deficits over ten years. However, the CBO underestimated a crucial revenue source while adding the cost of revenue in the estimates.

Build back better can be fully paid.

McCarthy’s Intervention

The proposal will cost somewhere between $1.7 trillion and $ 2 trillion. I am not sure if the bill expected to clear the House today is the final version. The senate can still make a few changes and send it back to the House.

The House was ready to vote on the proposal yesterday, but minority leader Kevin McCarthy spoke for nearly eight hours and pushed the vote to the next day.

I am highly confident that McCarthy has no idea what he spoke for eight hours. So I wasted exactly zero minutes reading his speech. His objective was to get some much-needed publicity to support his bid…
