Cry Baby in the Kremlin
Performs the worst drama in the world
Two months ago, after a US publication penned a story that a pro-Ukrainian group was behind last year’s attacks on the Nord Stream gas pipelines, German defense Minister Oscar Pistorius cautioned the world from jumping into premature conclusions.
“It may just as well have been a false-flag operation staged to blame Ukraine, an option brought up in the media reports as well,” Pistorius told public broadcaster Deutschlandfunk in an interview.
After the twin pipeline blasts, Russia blamed the United Kingdom. But in the end, there was only one country that had the right equipment at the right place to rupture the pipelines. And the name of the country is Russia.
Initially, Russia accused Ukraine of trying to assassinate President Vladimir V. Putin following the twin drone explosions above the Kremlin early Wednesday. By the end of Wednesday, they added the United States into the mix.
According to the Ukrainian government, Russia manufactured the incident to distract attention from Ukraine’s anticipated counteroffensive and justify a potential escalation.
But there was something very different about the way Russia responded after the twin blasts. They wanted the entire world to know about the explosions.
