In Virginia, Republican Glenn Youngkin defeated Democrat Terry McAuliffe by a margin of 2.5%. In New Jersey, Democrat Phil Murphy defeated Republican Jack Ciattarelli by 2.3%.
The difference wasn’t just 0.2% between the two races. It was the difference between Saddam Hussein and Barack Obama.
