Donald Trump’s path to the White House in 2024 will be shut, if he Biden stays competitive in Florida

Tell me, would you consider the following numbers weak, or would you consider them strong? Below is the comparison between Donald Trump and Joe Biden for the presidential race, and incumbent Senator Republican Rick Scott versus Democrat Debbie Mucarsel-Powell for the Senate seat in Florida.

A new USA TODAY/Ipsos poll published last week reported “74% of Florida voters have never heard of Mucarsel-Powell. That includes an overwhelming 61% of the state’s Democratic voters and 78% of the independents”.

The Democratic Senate candidate with no name recognition in the state is trailing by a massive 17 points. That is where the Republican support base is in Florida. In comparison, Donald Trump is leading President Biden with a nine to ten point margin.

The problem for Donald Trump is that Florida is a must-win state. The challenge for Joe Biden is that he needs to threaten Donald Trump’s peace of mind in the state. All he needs to do is to bring the state within the margin of polling error. Cut…
