MAGA base is not enough to win a Presidential Election.

Every presidential election has a theme, a subtle undercurrent that drives the electorate, much like a river: still and calm on the surface, yet hidden and forceful if you delve a little deeper.

In 2016, it was a competition between the unknown and the well-known. Americans voted for change, but they did not give the unknown a complete mandate; just enough to prevail through the electoral college. It was a “let us take a chance” election.

In 2020, tired of the theatrics and faced with a once-in-a-century pandemic, they voted for a return to normalcy. It was a clear-cut mandate, worth seven million plus votes. It was a “get back to normal” election.

So, what will be theme of the 2024 election?

It should have been a referendum on the Biden administration. It should be. But it won’t be because of none other than Donald Trump.

Can Fox News ever be able to dial down on fear and anxiety? They cannot, because those emotional variables are at the core of the system they have created and perfected over the years. It’s a tap dance on the outrageous sill. Their audience has been conditioned to it, and the aftereffects have been modeled behind it. A…
