Towards the end of Ridley Scott’s movie ‘Kingdom of Heaven, Sultan Saladin will retire to his encampment after negotiating a truce with the King of Jerusalem. With a sad demeanor, he will tell his general there will be no peace without a war.

Saladin’s general responds with a prescient quote: “The King of Jerusalem will die soon. When he is dead, the boy will become king of a kingdom he cannot control. The Christians will make the war you need”.

The Republicans are in the same spot as Christian fundamentalists were in the movie. Drunk with power. No long-term plan to hold the power structure. An insatiable urge to accumulate idealogical wins as quickly as possible.

The Systemic Rig

America has changed a lot in the last ten years. But, it is still changing, and it will keep changing.

Metamorphosis is not a singular event; it's a process. By 2030, the US electorate will look extremely different from today. The patron saint of White Nationalism will struggle every day to convince Americans to listen to his sermon.
