Some people on the right called the Affordable Care Act (ACA) as Fugitive Slave Act. A Republican senator who worked with the Obama White House criticized the ACA as government intervention to pull the plug on grandma.

Nearly 12 years have passed since the Affordable Care Act became the law of the land. How many grandma plugs were pulled by Obamacare?

  • Not a single one.

Republican politicians lied to their constituents in order to keep them against a potential transition to universal health care. It was a continuation of a fight between the right and the left that had its roots in 1945.

Centralized healthcare or Universal health care is available in most of the developed countries in the world except America. Not just the developed world, a lot of developing countries also offer such cover for their citizens.

President Truman tried to push America towards a centralized health care system. But America never managed to even get half way there because Truman was forced to move out of the healthcare track by the conservatives, who rallied the country against “Socialized Medicine.”
