If you actually track the experts on this field, like Hoffman I mentioned and a few others, they are in alignment with the way I am looking at this.

The desks in the big media houses, almost all of them, do not have national security expertise. They just stacked them with whatever resources. On issues of this importance, they should not have. And then there is the muscle memory built over the years to look for sensationalism once a topic hits the table.

Remember their coverage after a hospital in Gaza was hit. In old days the first news team arrived would have said, people are dead, we are still talking to officials and we will report details soon. But no such thing happened. In mere hours they knew who did it and even how they did it. When you get practiced covering news like that, you end up doing shit like what they did yesterday.
