If you built everything on your own, it is yours. But, what if you took government assistance?

“In a country well governed, poverty is something to be ashamed of. In a country badly governed, wealth is something to be ashamed of.” — Confucius.

Wait….

What?

Why did Confucius lob the wealthy into a single bucket?

Confucius did not lob the wealthy. He refers to wealth creation in a badly governed state.

A country with bad rulers will facilitate wealth accumulation through unfair means. The government rigs the system to transfer wealth from 80% of the population into the hands of the 20%. It may or may not be the fault of the 20%. But it is undoubtedly the fault of the morally bankrupt rulers.

A Classic Example: The United States

The two wars the Bush administration started, cost the country more than $8 trillion.
