Manchin Reveals the Ugly Truth

Bernie Sanders did the best thing he could. Instead of waiting to engage Senator Manchin in his phony talks in Washington, D.C., Sanders took him on by writing an op-ed in Charleston Gazette-Mail.

Sanders challenged Manchin on his home turf:

“Poll after poll shows overwhelming support for this legislation. Yet, the political problem we face is that in a 50–50 Senate we need every Democratic senator to vote “yes.” We now have only 48. Two Democratic senators remain in opposition, including Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va”.

The op-ed must have hit a raw nerve in Manchin’s calculations. For a man without any counter-proposal except for the requirement to chop things down, it must be jarring to read a line-by-line report on the advantages of the democratic infrastructure bill.

Manchin lost his balance as he openly admitted his embrace of the Republican do-nothing and do not allow anyone to do anything agenda.

“Millions of jobs are open, supply chains are strained, and unavoidable inflation taxes are draining workers’ hard-earned wages as the price of gasoline and groceries continues to climb. Senator Sanders’ answer is to throw more money on an already overheated economy while 52 other Senators have grave concerns about this…
