National Media Wants the GOP to Win the Midterms
Sensationalism is deflating Democratic momentum
Throughout my life, I have witnessed many mirages.
Nevertheless, there is one mirage I recall from my youth that still remains vivid in my mind. It was hot and humid. A vast open expanse unfolded in front of me, starting with a small number of trees, which slowly became dense before reaching the foot of a hill.
It was right there, at a distance. My eyes saw a lake, moving and shaking. The water evaporated into the heat.
I knew it wasn’t real because I had visited the foot of the mountain and the town at the top. The lake never existed. Someone explained to me that I had experienced a mirage.
“Mirage is a naturally occurring optical phenomenon in which light rays bend via refraction” to produce a non-existent image.
The United States is witnessing a political mirage. An artificially occurring media phenomenon in which information is bent via profitability bias to produce a non-existent image.
