New York City Delivers a Stinging Rebuke to ‘Defund the Police’

President Biden firmly believes he would be in an extremely different position in Washington, D.C, had the democrats efficiently countered the ‘defund the police’ movement. He made his displeasure extremely clear to civil rights leaders when he spoke to them in December 2020.
“I also don’t think we should get too far ahead of ourselves on dealing with police reform in that, because they’ve already labeled us as being ‘defund the police’ anything we put forward in terms of the organizational structure to change policing — which I promise you, will occur,” Biden said.
The President was scathing in his assessment as he said, “ That’s how they beat the living hell out of us across the country, saying that we’re talking about defunding the police. We’re not”. And Biden did not stop there. He went on to explain the best way to address the issue.
