A dictator who fears his own shadow

Vladimir Putin will never forget September 2022.

Russian forces were routed in Kharkiv. Before Russian President Putin could face the worldwide media humiliation for his army’s brilliant battlefield performance, he had to swallow his pride to support Chinese President Xi.

China’s strongman forced Putin to admit publicly that China was concerned about the war — Putin’s message to the European Union on behalf of Xi.

Just in case rubbing Chinese salt into Putin’s wounded ego wasn’t enough, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the world this isn’t the time for war while standing two feet from Putin.

Ouch!

During its war with Ukraine, Russia never found a strong ally. China and India were secured as neutral allies. Six months later, both China and India are tired of Putin’s war.

Together, both countries have to feed nearly 3 billion people every day. The cost of food, energy, and a long list of other things has risen as a result of Putin’s war. Discounted oil won’t cut it for China and India. Neither country is interested in harming itself to help Putin win the war.

Xi and Modi’s public statements about the war forced Putin to rethink his position. The dictator knew his future and that of his tumbling war…
