I will give it to the Russian President Vladimir Putin. He may have lost his master strategist tag after his non stop failures since February 2022. But there is no one in the world who can spin a story like Putin.
He is the world’s master spinner.
After the humiliation he received due to the short armed rebellion by Prigozhin's forces, Putin presented his version of the story to the Russian audience. In that story, all is well inside Russia. Vladimir Putin is the most benevolent dictator in the world. Also the elegantly magnanimous. His heart beats with patriotic fervor.
What happened: Prigozhin’s heavily armed columns blitzed past multiple Russian military bases on their way towards Moscow. All the internal structure Russia had in place to thwart any internal security threat failed one after another. One of the bases surrendered to the Wagner group without a fight. Russia lost 4 Mi-8 helicopters and 13 pilots during the mutiny.
