West was never ready to completely shut down Russian oil and gas, they always knew that it can never be done due to the delicate balance of the oil markets. That is why the cap and all sort of run around and evadable sanctions. Is this a problem, yes it is. But only one point in a laundry list of problems. What we cannot allow Russia to do anymore is to allow them to be in a position to weaponize energy. If France goes all the way to become dependent on Russia for LNG then we have a problem. And it is difficult to say, whether France is making a mistake with just one data point. I will look into it. For now I will hold my opinion on it.
