In the event that the Democrats win the House this year, please thank Senators Ted Cruz and Steve Daines.

A celebratory fist-bump by the two senators after removing the bottom of the bill to help Veterans exposed to burn pits provided the momentum the country needed to puncture the red wave.

It’s time to retire the term ‘red wave’ for this election cycle and start talking about a ‘no wave race’.

Mitch McConnell covered up the Republican party’s yay-nay-yay vote by stating that such things happen in Washington. Before the Republicans backtracked, however, much damage had already been done. Criticism came from all directions.

Bipartisanship was always the norm when it came to veterans. Blowback for messing up has almost always been unforgiving. Senate GOP leaders made a terrible mistake and the entire party is paying the price for it.

Politics is narrative.

Narratives are momentum.

When the wind picks up speed in one direction, changing directions takes time and effort. Sometimes, that day may never come. Dems now have a set of pins with which they can puncture the red wave whenever they want. The Democrats did not earn them. The GOP gifted the…
