I don’t believe in coincidence, especially in politics.
These are people who lie for a living. It is their job to confuse us. It is our job to call them out. Therefore I refuse to accept Trump hiring “two top operatives from Iowa” had nothing to do with Florida governor Ron DeSantis dismissing 2024 presidential bid rumors as ‘nonsense.’
These are not random events in a coincidental sequence. Instead, they are a chain of inter-related events.
Donald Trump has hired boots on the ground in Iowa. “The state — known for its cornfields and brutally cold winters — can serve either as a campaign’s launchpad or as its crash site.
Because the state is significantly older, whiter, and more rural than average, some object to its influence. Yet Iowa matters because its primary — the election when Democrats and Republicans select their presidential candidates — comes first in the election cycle”.
In today’s world, campaigns can be run from a command center thousands of miles away. But having boots on the ground brings its own set of benefits. First, it will allow Trump to keep an eye on his potential rivals. Second, it will allow his team to stifle any momentum picked up by presidential contenders.
