I woke up to the news that the Russian Embassy in Germany was furious over German Chancellor’s decision to send 14 Leopard tanks to Ukraine and giving the allies the permission to export their Leopards. The Russians view this as a permanent escalation.

However, Dmitry Medvedev, the former Prime Minister of Russia and a prominent member of Putin’s circle of evil, publicly expressed Putin’s desire for Russian control to extend to Portugal.

• It is not an escalation to bomb an apartment building on New Year’s Eve.
• It is not an escalation to block food grains leaving Ukraine in the midst of food shortages around the globe.
• It is not escalation to award Russian soldiers who are accused of war crimes in Bucha.
• It is not an escalation to openly threaten Britain with nuclear Armageddon.

But sending Leopard tanks to Ukraine is escalation.
