Russia Faces Difficult Choices in Kherson

The next few weeks will bring significant victories for Ukraine

Kirill Budanov, the head of Ukraine’s Intelligence Directorate, said this week that Ukraine will keep pressing as hard as possible. “Until the end of the year, we will still make significant progress, these will be significant victories, you will see it soon. I hope this may be Kherson,” he said.

According to Budanov, “everything should be over by summer.”

Because of the time gap between now and the summer, we should ignore the curveballs and focus on the easy ones. It is not impossible to draw reasonable conclusions regarding what will happen in Ukraine over the next eight weeks.

In the coming weeks, the Russia-Ukraine war can take a few different turns. But none of those developments bode well for Vladimir Putin. His only chance is to use Elon Musk, his western loudspeaker, to pressure the United States to curtail its support for Ukraine.
