Russia will fish in troubled waters
It will work, for some time
Dictatorships worldwide have a knack for fishing in troubled waters — a well-established tradition, not a novel concept, spanning generations. If there is none, they will create one.
Hitler formed the Axis Powers, a military alliance with Japan and later Italy. This alliance allowed for coordination of military strategies and resources among the three powers. For example, Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 led to the United States entering the war, which was a development Hitler had hoped for as he believed it would divert American attention and resources away from Europe.
“On 11 December 1941, four days after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and the United States declaration of war against the Japanese Empire, Nazi Germany declared war against the United States, in response to what was claimed to be a series of provocations by the United States government when the U.S. was still officially neutral during World War II”.
If this scenario appears uncannily reminiscent of the current events in the Middle East, that’s because it is. The Kremlin has no intention of relinquishing this chance; they will strive to secure as many advantages as possible before Israel gains control of the Middle East situation.
