The Russian president said a few days ago that Russia had overcome the sanctions imposed by the West.

Oh. Well.. He is right.

While Russia managed to weather the sanctions imposed by the Western world, it is slowly but surely sinking under the sanctions imposed by Vladimir Putin.

Russia’s economy is starting to suffer from the relentless withdrawal of working-age men to support Putin’s imperial ambitions. Since the Ukraine invasion began, Russia has lost 500 to more than 1000 men every day.

It’s about a quarter to a half million men. Top that number with the one million Russians who fled the country to escape Putin’s order to partially mobilize the nation for war. The number of men the Russian labor force has lost in the last 15 months is staggering.

And the war is far from over.

According to a Russian central bank survey, worker availability has fallen to a reading of -18, the lowest since data collection initially began in 1998.
