Putin is furious.

And he made sure the world heard it — loud and clear — by launching missile strikes on Odesa port, Kryvyi Rih, and Dnipro City. Within hours of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announcing that the United States and Ukraine had reached an agreement, the Kremlin threw a missile-fueled tantrum.

Officially, Moscow remains silent. But State Duma deputy Viktor Sobolev didn’t mince words: Russia will not agree to the 30-day truce proposed by the U.S., as it would give Ukraine time to regroup and rearm. It’s a fair point — Western weapons from the EU and Britain continue to flow in at an increasing pace.

In Russia, no one, not even the most rabid propagandists, dares stray from the Kremlin’s official line. After all, windows are everywhere. There is exactly a 0% chance that Sobolev would make such a statement without the Kremlin’s explicit approval.

Meanwhile, the mood among Russian ultranationalists has turned bitter. But they’re keeping their mouths shut when it comes to Donald Trump — under strict orders not to speak about him. Instead, they’re channeling their frustration into outrage over the U.S.-Ukraine agreement.
