Russian Eggs are in a Crisis
Ouch!
Gennady Shiryaev, a 59-year-old, who leads the Tretyakov Poultry Farm, the largest in the western Voronezh region, had an unsettling experience on his way home. While driving, an unidentified assailant fired two shots at his vehicle. Shiryaev confirmed to the Russian news outlet Kommersant that he emerged unharmed from the apparent assassination attempt.
He recounted, “There were two shots, but thankfully, they did not hit me.”
Two bullets. All in the name of eggs.
The price of eggs are rising sharply in Russia. In November, egg prices rose by 40.29 percent compared to last year. The rise has been so fast that people are lining up in queues to buy eggs at agricultural fairs.
From Tiktok to Twitter, social media is having a field day over Kremlin’s response to contain raising egg prices.
It’s not Putins fault… he says the ‘socialist chickens have raised their capitalist prices…’
