While campaigning in New Hampshire on Thursday, Nikki Haley tore into Mr. Trump in response to a question from a voter during a town hall, saying, “Who cares what he thinks about Netanyahu? This is not about that. This is about the people of Israel.”
Haley was actually somewhat charitable to Trump.
Chris Christie called him a “fool.” Ron DeSantis called his words “verbal grenades.” I think most Israelis would have been left speechless after the former President, who frequently calls himself a ‘genius’, praised Hezbollah as “smart.” He also added,
“They’re all very smart.”
Donald Trump was angry that the Prime Minister of Israel did not cooperate with his plan to kill the Iranian general Qasem Soleimani, leader of the paramilitary Quds Force in January 2020. “I’ll never forget that Bibi Netanyahu let us down,” Trump said. “That was a very terrible thing,” .
But we have only heard his version of the story. Let us not forget what he said to presidential historian Bob Woodward on the threat posed by Covid and what he said in public.
