Regime change is the only way out for Russia. Most of the leaders of the Baltic nations are dead set against giving Putin any face saver. It is understandable, because they will be his next set of targets, if Putin thinks he won even a tiny percent.

The sanctions, if left for a long time, will crush generations of Russians for a mistake they want to be no part of. This tyrant has gotta get kicked out.
