Thanks for asking Katherine. Your confusion is a very valid one.

For nearly two years, Ukraine was extremely strong in defense. They barely lost anything. I do not consider Bakhmut 2023 as a loss. It was a tactical withdrawal to conserve manpower to help their counteroffensive that began two weeks after Ukraine withdrew from bakhmut.

But Ukraine lost Marinka and Avdiivka this year. They could not defend because America, the largest producer of artillery shells in the world could not supply the weapons needed by Ukraine to properly defend. Root cause of this is because the U.S congress is refusing to release the funding required to send those weapons.

The story you read here, the attack on the A50 repair facility was conducted using drones made in Ukraine.

Ukraine is fighting with what ever weapons it has on hand and winning a few battles, while losing a few. That loss can be stopped immediately if America supplies the right weapons to Ukraine.

You are always welcome to ask any doubts. I will be around.
