The United States, China, and Europe

The global auto industry declined sharply in 2019, with sales dropping by 4.4%, as manufacturers struggled to find buyers in the fast-changing automotive landscape.

Global Auto Sales:

2017: 95.2 million

2018: 94.4 million

2019:90.3 million

2020: ??

Global electric vehicle sales surged to 1.1 million in the first half of 2019, a growth of 46% compared to the first half of 2018. But the slowdown in China reversed the surge in the second half, as electric vehicles closed the year with sales of 2.1 million units, a growth of just 10% compared to 2018.

2019: Global Auto market declined by 4.4%. Plugin Vehicles grew by 10%.

Though we have to wait some more time for worldwide EV sales figures, data is available for North America, Europe, and China — the three regions that account for a major portion of Global EV sales.
