If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes accepted as truth

Misinformation is a crucial part of the Republican game plan. It is not a fringe idea GOP uses once in a while to inflame tensions. Instead, it's a strategic part of their offensive arsenal.

GOP’s Misinformation Template:

  1. Confuse and make it hard for people to differentiate truth from fiction.
  2. Anyone can become a target: Barack Obama (where was he born?), Kamala Harris (migrant kids got a welcome kit from the VP), Coronavirus (is a hoax), Anthony Fauci, and countless others.
  3. Turn Americans against their institutions.

GOP assumed Fauci is a weak target

Dr. Anthony Fauci did have a weakness. He is the head of an organization with a wide range of research projects. Ask any good researcher, and he will tell you failures significantly outnumber their success.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, led by Dr. Anthony Fauci, lists 9,906 active projects. He is the director. There is no way for one man to be intricately associated with 9000 projects. This vulnerability made him…
