Hey GOP, Don’t Expect the Silent To Be Quiet Forever
They are starting to speak for themselves
In Alabama, a family medicine physician announced he would no longer see patients not vaccinated against COVID-19.
I wish my cousin had done the same. He died of Covid-19 complications after ignoring his wife’s advice not to treat Covid-19 patients. There were no vaccines then, and she was right. Had he listened to her, he would have been still with us today.
It’s a risk an untold number of doctors, nurses, and health care workers assume every day.
Vaccinated or not.
Possibility or not.
It is still a risk.
No one has the right to ask anyone to bear the risk of losing their life. That’s possibly why I felt happy after reading the Alabama doc’s statement:
We do not yet have any great treatments for severe disease, but we do have great prevention with vaccines. Unfortunately, many have declined to take the vaccine, and some end up severely ill or dead. I cannot and will not force anyone to take the vaccine, but I also cannot continue to watch my patients…
