Ukraine Breaks Putin’s Escalation Ladder
All roads now lead to Crimea
I have never come across a villain who whines as much as the autocratic cabal that controls the Kremlin.
The world has to quietly sit and watch Putin send thousands of tanks, 125 battalion tactical groups, fire more than 2,000 missiles, buy drones from Iran and send them in swarms, displace 8 million Ukrainians and turn towns into graveyards.
But anyone who responds to Putin’s actions will be called a terrorist by the Kremlin. Putin will decide what is right, what is wrong and what is terrorism.
Since the day Putin was forced to scale down the May 9th victory parade, the Russian army has relentlessly attacked Kyiv. They attacked in the night. They have attacked during the day.
Air raid sirens have been blaring non-stop in Kyiv, not allowing the 3.6 million residents to catch a break. The residents of Kyiv are constantly reminded that they are in war and every day could be their last day to see the sun.
While Kyiv has been attacked since the first days of the war, the pace and intensity of the assaults over the past month have been jarring even for civilians now used to spending long hours in bomb shelters and sleepless nights huddled in corridors.
