You must have seen the way Turkish currency Lira got killed due to inflation, and other economic indicators. Ruble will get crushed under the weight of inflation. So far this has not happenned.
The market size of Russia, nearly twice Turkey size is another problem. Turkey does not face a western blockade, so there are known escape routes. Putins economy does not have any. Facing inflation as a broke man is a disaster.
Rising inflation will fuel the discontent out to the front, it is the one thing that has the potential to turn the oligarchs and the elites against Putin. So, yes, I do think inflation is one of the best routes to pry Russia out of Putins control.
