Zelensky Was the Target, Is the Target, and Will Remain the Target

There will be an effort to remove him — as part of the deal.

If you take a closer look, you’ll notice a stark contrast between how Trump attacks Zelensky and how Mr. Greed does.

Donald Trump, as always, remains fluid. He began his presidency by attacking Vladimir Putin, only to pivot swiftly to Zelensky after the Ukrainian leader rejected a mineral resources deal. He is perfectly capable of reversing course again. On every issue, he retains the right to switch sides. He’ll drop just the right amount of crazy to make you forget where he stood yesterday.

Mr. Greed, however, is different. He has been unwavering in his opposition to Zelensky. His latest attack on the Ukrainian president isn’t even noteworthy — it’s just business as usual. The real surprise is that he managed to stay silent for this long. The moment he sensed an opening in Trump’s shifting stance, he seized it with both hands.

His efforts to undermine Zelensky have been relentless. And if Zelensky underestimates the threat this man poses — or fails to grasp why he wants him gone — he may find himself facing serious, unwelcome consequences.

The odds are high that the D.C. power brokers will lay the groundwork to push Zelensky out…

He didn't care what he had or what he had left, he cared only about what he must do.
